The Original Collaboration

NostálChicas is Anne Bryson Doyle and Sandra Lemus. Their collaboration began in 2015 at the University of Washington's Printmaking studios.
Bryson Doyle grew up on the banks of the Gulf of Mexico. Her work often pulls from candid family photos of her past and present. She is fascinated in the newest research on traumatic brain injuries and PTSD. Her latest work, Reclaim Series, is inspired by her healing journey.
Lemus' multidisciplinary work draws from her background as a daughter of immigrant parents. The variety of materials throughout her work lend to the exploration of identity and what it means to be "ni de aquí, ni de allá" or "neither from here, nor from there".
Together, Bryson Doyle and Lemus create meaningful work that embraces the human experience and community through their shared experiences.
